Forehead Facial Peel

Chemical peels are solution applied to the face to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new cells. The aim is to improve the appearance of the skin, there are 3 types of peels  depending on the depth they go into the layers of the skin from superficial, medium to deep. As an experience skin practitioner I use superficial and medium peels for in-clinic treatments.  When using chemical peels and resurfacing treatments its extremely important to determine which type of chemical peels to use will depend on the clients skin type, skin condition, home-care being used and skin concerns.

Here I offer three different brands for treatment of chemical peels and resurfacing;

  1. iS Clinical Fire & Ice

FILLMED Skin Perfusion Light Peel & Bright Peel

FILLMED Laboratoires has designed for medical aesthetic professionals since 1978 have a  range of two superficial chemical peels targeting skin quality enhancement and suitable for ALL skin types. Formulated with gluconolacctone, which is a ‘new age’ chemical used in peeling as it does not strip the skin of moisture. Instead it helps to stimulate the renewal of the epidermis, the peels are recommended for combating the signs of aging (age spots, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles), for restoring a glow to dull, uneven skin and for generally improving the complexion.  The Light Peel is perfect for congested and acne prone skin as it suitable for sensitive skin.

A superficial peel is an exfoliating solution is applied to the face, neck and decollete, the amount is gauged to the individual skin type. By gently removing the upper layers of the epidermis (a carefully controlled process) the skin’s appearance is improved and cell renewal is accelerated. FILLMED chemical peels use gluconolactone, which are specially designed for sensitive skin, combined with other active ingredients, it reinforces therapeutic impact, improves tolerability and enhances overall results.

Treatment includes the unique FILLMED CRYOLED device, the first part consists of Cryotherapy which produces a thermal shock that promotes accelerated penetration of active ingredients through a pumping effect, this revitalises the skin boosting radiance, smoothness, lifting and minimises fine lines/wrinkles.  The second part is LED Phototherapy that sends light waves deep inside the skin and transforms into energy, this targets cells stimulating the production of skin proteins that help to repair tissue. Great for ageing, pigmentation, sensitive skin and acne.

FILLMED Peel treatment is carried out over 3-6 sessions at two-to-three week intervals.

Post treatment the skin will feel refreshed and hydrated, on rare occasions the skin may feel a little sensitive and have a very slight redness but this will disperse very quickly, it is important to follow aftercare given.

Before & After Facial Treatment

Why is the pH Formula MD TCA different?

The TCA TOUCH™ in the MD line is at a much safer concentration of 30% and still delivers incredible results, it uses the safest form of Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) skin treatment to date. It is a non-ablative peeling system meaning it doesn’t burn the top layers of the skin. The chemical formulation has been transformed by dividing the molecules into Dichloroacetic acid and Monochloroacetic acid. This combination allows the formula to keep the maximum chloro molecules but combined with different pKa, therefore is less aggressive for the skin. It is also enriched with Arbutin for its skin lightening properties and Magnesium Sulfate as an anti-inflammatory effect. This reduces the downtime, pain and risks associated with the classic TCA treatment procedures. Unlike other TCA treatments, this makes the procedure suitable for all skin types and skin disorders.
